John the Revelator is a song that originates in the 30's. It refers to John of Patmos who is John the Evangelist, one of Jesus' students. He wrote the "Book of Revelation" which includes the "Book of the Seven Seals", an interesting and symbolic concept worth exploring.

It began as a Gospel/blues song by Blind Willie Johnson

but it develops throughout the decades through covers.
Music develops and the song goes on.
