What have you done by the age of 21? As far as Nicolas Jaar is concerned, the answer goes beyond what my mind perceives of a guy in his age. How is it possible to create such a wonderful music and build up an electronic music style of your own at such a young age... Well, he's been lucky enough to be raised both in Chile and NY by parents who himself calls artists, maybe he's been lucky enough to be gifted but obviously there's something in this kid worth exploring. His music incorporates influences from a multitude of music genres. He's been described by the press as the renaissance man of electronic music and a representation of digital innovation. It's all about constant experimentation, never-ending exploration and the unexpected.

He is the one that first made me go through such an investigation and discover the art of directing. Indeed, he is unique, every piece of his work is a diamond. The stories: always unconventional leaving much room for personal interpretation; the directing: beautiful and unexpected. Each film puts the viewer in a thinking process feeling a kind of a different person. His comments about his films reveal an exceptional personality, an individual interested in creating something worth watching, something different and deeper, something that responds to his audience's speculations and reflects his personal concerns.
Music in his films is usually created by Clint Mansell, a perfect combination that makes the result irresistible.
