It is one of those weird moments that you accidentally fall over a piece of gold that leads to a treasure, a new discovery. I love them! I didn't even know about Darwin's theory about the power of movement in plants.
It's all about constantly learning and finding, building a network that contributes to your amelioration, creating your own existence, perceiving things you never did before.
All about understanding and enjoying music in a deeper sense, discovering how magical a piece of plastic (vinyl) might be, appreciating the power of the machine, letting the sound penetrate your whole body, listening through your brain. To feel, to love, to share!
A concept taken from an old book of Charles Darwin, where he theorized the existence of a brain in plant roots, in order to feature a stylisticevolutionfrom Ambient to Techno. A free way of thinking without schemes, as we move into territory that we love, in the boundless fields of electronic music.
// Cosmic Metal Mother presents: The Unreleased Techno Mixes Series (comunicazione uno) A special track, simply a strange adventure in techno music with old school industrial influences, distorted rhythms and powerful dynamics. http://www.discogs.com/artist/Cosmic+Metal+Mother
A magical and innovative film turning into a night just 110 years from then
A night dedicated to George Méliès. A French filmmaker who used Augmented Reality to craft the world’s first science fiction movie, “A Trip to the Moon”. Guided by his creative instincts and artistic passion he produced surreal settings of illusory, dreamed-up, realities. He was the first man to realize that films could capture dreams and has since taken the cinematic imagination on a fantastic new voyage.
Essoterika is taking this voyage with you as we depart for “A Trip to the Moon” with sounds of contemplative spaciousness that evoke a continuum of spatial imagery and emotion. A night of deep listening, an awareness of the spatiality of sound phenomeno. A psychonautic listening of multiple genres that produce a subtle trance-like state which can in turn lead to sensations of flying, floating, cruising, gliding, or hovering and expansive moods.
Gently gliding through space you start to comprehend the enormity which surrounds you. No boundaries exist. Only those which are physically impossible to bypass and those which are set by yourself.
You start to imagine what is waiting for you upon your arrival. Will it be awe-inspiring, will it be mind expanding, or will it simply be a disappointment. The destination has been reached and your expectations are not comparable to the spectacle you are experiencing. Words, thoughts, images, cannot express the sights you are seeing. Your everyday existence suddenly ceases to exist and you are open to the full possibilities which unravel themselves in front of you. Nothing seems unreachable, your only enemy is time... As you peer at the world you forget that it is a place in which you exist physically. It is now a place which you only exist mentally, in the consciousness of those who have experienced you.
The earth and the space, in which it exists, seem to be in unison, both supporting and existing in conjuction with each other. You then focus on the earth and capture its beauty, as it floats in the seemingly endless darkness. You marvel at its colours as it shines through the darkness, illuminating the space surrounding it. You see a planet which radiates so much light and energy, and you then understand how this planet gives life to all living creatures upon it. You then think about all the problems which exist within it, all the pain, all the suffering and all the misery, and you understand that it is the human mind and the 'boundaries' imprisoning individuals which are the root of the problem.
Suddenly you take off and begin your descent to the earth. You start thinking of the boundaries which will limit your own possibilities and you find yourself back on earth, limited physically by your earthly surroundings, but you now have the knowledge of the possibilities which exist but can only be experienced on your next 'trip to the moon'.
If you destroy our houses you will not destroy our souls...
They are untouchable, above your reality.
They belong to us and they grow stronger, they get awakened.
Houses collapse, bodies surrender but souls are eternal.
And even if you destroy our home you will not conquer us, not unless we let you!
We are more, and we got something you don't: souls, consciousness and the sense of humanity. These make us invincible.
We don't have suits but we got souls
We don't believe in money, we believe in ideas
And we may not have the guns but we got the numbers
«here's
a picture i took earlier. i'm not sure what it is, exactly, but i'm
choosing to believe that it's a raven harbinger of some sort of
relatively benign apocalypse or it could just be a crow.
but as the mayan apocalypse is almost upon us i'm going to go with 'raven harbinger' rather than 'crow'. or both. so. i have my own hopes/thoughts about the upcoming mayan apocalypse. first and foremost is my hope that we're somehow moving out of the age of stupid. for millions of years our ancestors had to deal with problems that were not of their own making. like, for example, bears and lions and scarcity. and now we primarily have to deal with problems of our own making: obesity, cigarettes, war, rape, famine, pollution, intolerance, global warming, gun violence, murder, etc, etc. and we unfortunately have no one to blame but ourselves. we've created paradise and filled it with problems. so my hope is that the apocalypse will somehow get people to wake up and stop being so pointlessly and avoidably stupid. and to stop creating problems for themselves. and, while we're at it, for others. which sounds glib, i know. but that's what i'm hoping. maybe, as some smart people think, it's also leaving behind the era of belligerent patriarchy and moving into an era of benign matriarchy. maybe it's when the polar ice sheets fall into the sea and we realize that there are consequences to idling our cars in the parking lot at starbucks. or, simply, it's when we(me included) all wake up and stop being stupid. maybe it's when we stop wrapping plastic toys in plastic shrink wrap. maybe it's when we stop feeding thousands of pounds of grain to cows when that same grain could actually be fed to starving humans. maybe it's when governments stop subsidizing tobacco production. maybe it's when we stop heating our driveways. maybe it's when the punishment for rape becomes greater than the punishment for growing marijuana. maybe it's when we stop paying professional athletes 10,000 times more than school teachers. maybe it's when we stop using drinkable water in our toilets. maybe it's when we stop using poison to keep golf courses looking green. maybe it's when the background check on buying a gun becomes more extensive than the background check on adopting a cat. and so on. and so on. in any case, here's a picture of a crow who is heralding the end of the age of stupid.»
Some will be surprised to see that good will never fade away and it will always be deeper and stronger than the hypocrisy we are condemned to live inPin It Now!
Geez, I have been from heroin for 27 years. Every time I hear this song
and close my eyes,it brings me back to the day where I use to nod and
hold a cigarette in my hand until it burned right up in between my index
finger and ring finger. Didn't feel a thing. My head would bob down and
occasionally I would lift it and look around with drooping eyelids,
scratching my nose, wishing I could get high! lol. Song takes me right
back. Clean and sober, now, for 27 years. Thank you God.
Cow Palace, San Francisco, 1979
Lyrics
He came dancing across the water
With his galleons and guns
Looking for the new world
In that palace in the sun.
On the shore lay Montezuma
With his coca leaves and pearls
In his halls he often wondered
With the secrets of the worlds.
And his subjects
Gathered 'round him
Like the leaves around a tree
In their clothes of many colors
For the angry gods to see.
And the women all were beautiful
And the men stood
Straight and strong
They offered life in sacrifice
So that others could go on.
Hate was just a legend
And war was never known
The people worked together
And they lifted many stones.
They carried them
To the flatlands
And they died along the way
But they built up
With their bare hands
What we still can't do today.
And I know she's living there
And she loves me to this day
I still can't remember when
Or how I lost my way.
He came dancing across the water
Cortez, Cortez
What a killer.
Renaissance Presents: The Masters Series: Hernan Cattaneo – Parallel (2010)
Hernan’s return to the Masters Series in
2010 brings with it an exciting new development. This year the
ever-creative South American has slowed things down to present a
distinctly cosmic disco-esque take on his inimitable sound.
“I felt it was time we took a fresh direction,” says Hernan, “But,
although it was always going to be alternate, I wasn’t sure just what
this direction should be. So, I locked myself away and started going
through loads of music for inspiration. It wasn’t till I pitched a Henry
Saiz track down (and it sounded brilliant) that I hit upon the idea of dropping everything back 15-20 BPMs on the first disc.”
Entitled ‘Day’, disc one is a beautiful, shimmering ride through
Cattaneo’s audio world, its musical style the perfect antithesis of
two’s club-inspired ‘Night’. But what’s all the more remarkable is how
he’s also managed to work five (out of a whopping eleven) original
productions, remixes and edits into the mix – no mean feat considering
the unique nature of the material. “I know there’s a big debate amongst
dance music fans about exclusives on compilations right now, but for me
it’s a purely positive objective. Just as with the alternate style of
the ‘Day’ mix, it’s another way of distinguishing the album from a live
club set, a statement to the fact a lot more effort has gone into the
project as whole,” he challenges. “I’ll not deny working outside of the
traditional comfort zone of 125 (approx) BPM was easy, but between
commissioning tracks from some of my favourite producers / friends,
using or adapting my own productions and sourcing some amazing music
(like the fantastic Sigur Ros track that closes the ‘Day’ mix – it’s such a great song!), I think it came together really well.”
Although ‘Night’ finds Hernan in more familiar territory, it draws
upon the remaining six exclusives to ensure his fresh authorship and
feel of the mix continues throughout, and comes backed by tantilising
gems from likes of Way Out West, Henry Saiz, Quivver and Tone Depth, to name but a few.

When I listened to this for the fist time I was anticipating summer madly.. youtube was broadcasting Sonar live this June. Now summer is over! some things changed since then, others not and will not!
It's this strange thing about life: everything goes by so rapidly... but even if the pace is such there will always be those certain things that leave their mark for the rest of our lives.
Now on, time is just a parameter.. not an important one.
I first heard this track in Agoria's mix for Balance Series. Noticeable! I found it, I've been listening to it over and over again. And then I found out it comes from an old Greek band... I am from Greece, I'm proud and I love everything Greek
Coincidences: what life is all about. Small pieces of one and the same thing coming to us in parts to form our lives. The right person at the right place in the right moment..sounds complicated but it happens all the time. Random things, random people, random places in random moments bound together they build what we are. Some call it luck, some call it fate, some don't even care. Whatever it is, life is beautiful and interesting and unpredictable. They say world is a cruel place, the system strikes us down every day... I know, I realise it more and more! But small things like this make me smile, they make me see some positive vibe and make me believe that something somewhere over the universe goes right.Pin It Now!
Klubd reminded me of something I have forgotten for a while, for my whole life maybe! All of us did! We keep focusing on cruel, bare things.
Zo gia romanzo[I live for romance]. A bold attempt to
revitalize the lost meaning of love, romance and passion. Essential
theories ignored and forgotten by today’s society. Sometimes stress and
the anxiety of our life paths, make us behave in such a way, that we
forget and we marginalize the basic ingredients of life. We get distant
from each other. Distant from our parents. From our friends. From our
loved ones. Distant from our own selves. Life is not made out of magic.
Life is made out of us. We make magic
through love. Through the monotony and the boredom of our routines, we
reach for the opportunity to bring back the lost meaning of true love.
We have missed being seduced by romance, by love on first sight. We are
ready to claim back what is ours. We are ready to fall in love again.
Located near Larnaca, next to the Dekhelia powerhouse, is our
foundation of love. We will transform it into a love nest. A place where
you will challenge, effectuate, dedicate, surrender, immortalize,
express, explore and most importantly REDISCOVER yourself. Supported by a
powerful sound system, unique scenery and an extraordinary setup made
out by the klubd crew, Romanzo will make sure you experience the magic
we are all after. Music will be delivered by our exceptional djs
Aristodemos (Exotica Events), I.O.D (Klub D, Sousami, Xorko) and a live
performance from Matthew Burton & Kate Rathod (Visionquest -
Berlin).
Since July is the month that always reminds me of him I shall leave a word here.
Jim Morrison
(8 Dec 1943 - 3 Jul 1971)
Οn his grave there is a stone that bears the greek phrase "Κατα τον δαιμονα εαυτου". `This phrase which can be loosely translated into 'true to his own spirit' summarizes his short life, a life lived in full and one that ended so soon probably because this world was not enough for him, he deserved a higher place. He never feared anything but himself, he dug into the abyss, he crossed all lines, he saw, he lived he felt things unknown to most of us and he left behind a treasure: Jim Morrison and everything this connotes. He built what we today enjoy in vinyls, CDs, movies.
John the Revelator is a song that originates in the 30's. It refers to John of Patmos who is John the Evangelist, one of Jesus' students. He wrote the "Book of Revelation" which includes the "Book of the Seven Seals", an interesting and symbolic concept worth exploring.
...not as a limitation, not as a self-imposed restriction, not as a way to put things in a context or arrange life, not as a compulsory quantifying method!
Never thought about this before :)
"Time is a companion that goes with us on a journey. It reminds us to cherish every moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind us is not as important as how we have lived"
Jean Luc Picard, Star Trek
John Teller: First time I read Emma Goldman wasn't in a book. I was sixteen hiking near the Nevada border. The quote was painted on a wall in red. When I saw these words it was like someone ripped them from the inside of my head.
"Anarchism stands for liberation of the human mind from the domination of religion, the liberation of the human body from the domination of property', the liberation from shackles and restraint of government. It stands for social order based on the free grouping of individuals."
The concept was pure, simple, true.
It inspired me, lit a rebellious fire.
But ultimately I learned the lessons Goldman, Prudot and the others learned; that true freedom requires sacrifice and pain.
Most human beings only think they want freedom.
In truth, they yearn for the bondage of social order, rigid laws, materialism.
The only freedom man really wants is the freedom to be comfortable
Sons Of Anarchy is a tv series not like any tv series we've seen before.
They are not just outlaws... they believe in something.
They give up the safety society provides in the pursuit of freedom.
Along the way it comes love, faith, family, friendship, truth, dignity.
Maybe they are just somewhere between techno and deep house but i like their "romantic techno" description. At the end, it all depends on you.. what's inside and how you choose to express it
